| Yeah...so I now have 3 less teeth in my mouth....I got my wisdom teeth removed on wednesday. The operation went well, and they said I did well, so yeah, I guess that was good. I don't remember any of it, and I'm really ok with that! I'm recovering now, and it hurts sooo much.....you know how most people get drugs and everything for the pain? yeah well..I didn't get a prescription.....sooo I'm trying to make it on just ibprofen. Yeah, I can't really describe to you how much it hurts....I've gotten about 6 hours of sleep the last two nights...combined. I got about 4 hours last night, 2 wednesday night....so yeah, that's what I've been up to. Before that, I took care of my 2 year old nephew on tuesday. He says my name now!!! it made me want to melt...I walked through the door and Dale came running to me yelling "Eckie!! eckie!!" (yeah, that's "Jessie") and the whole day when he wanted me he'd say, "Eckie". It was one of those moments I wish I could bottle up and save forever, yah know? And yes, I am one of those "cheesy aunts"....what can I say? I love my neice, nephew and the little nephew on the way! (he's joining us in this world next month) :) Anyways, yeah, I don't really have much to say....soooo I'm gonna go...see yah | | |
| Ok...well, it's one day shy of a month since I posted last....I really need to get better at that...but before I make a commitment to get better at posting regularily, I have one question; who actually reads this? If I know people read what I write, then I will update...otherwise, what's the point? Other than getting my thoughts down on "paper" I guess.... I successfully completed my first semester of college. Yay! Sooo now I'm on break....and ok, being home? eh....I haven't really enjoyed it all that much. I already miss all my friends from school, and I have basically nothing to do here. The only good thing about being at home so far is seeing my family..and even that good thing is kinda coming to an end. Ok, so I have 4 siblings (if you didn't know that already). now the oldest, Julia, is married and lives in Eau Claire with my bro in law Steve and nephew Dale, and another little guy on the way (due the beginning of Feb!) Then there's Mary who just graduated from Viterbo in LaCrosse, and is leaving for Japan in March to teach for a year. Dan has an apartment in the cities and is a Junior at Northwestern. Michelle is almost 17 and going to a boarding school in Land O Lakes, WI. And of course I'm a fershman at UW Eau Claire. So as you see, we all have our own lives and we are used to living on our own....when the 4 of us (minus Julia) come back for break...well...it gets....interesting. We used to get along no problem, and we still get along for the most part, but we're so used to being on our own that conflicts arise over "petty" things. yeah....if that made no sense I'm sorry. Christmas was good...we hung out around here, Julia, Steve and Dale came over, and we ate a toooon of food, opened gifts, played with Dale and just chilled together. So what do I have planned for the rest of break? well, this week I'm just doing whatever basically...spending time with Michelle before she goes back to school on the 1st...then I'm taking care of Dale in Eau Claire on the 2nd, and I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed on the 3rd. (please pray for me about this, I'm already kinda freaking out about it cuz of my last wisdom tooth experience....don't remember it? well, either look back in the posts till September, or ask me if you want to know) I know that this time I will be put under and then they will remove them, and everything should be fine...but still, yeah, kinda freaked out. Prayers would be much appreciated! as well as a visit with ice cream sometime that week :p jk... I decided not to work this week so I can spend time with Michelle. I'm not sure if that was a good idea or not....but hey, I forgot my work pants at school, so I can't work till after I get them on the 2nd anyways....So yeah, I'm not working till after I get my wisdom teeth removed...which means I'll only be working for like a week....but hey, it's something, and at this point I'm ok with that. I just need to work like a crazy woman this summer...I'll have my job at Quiznos, but I have to find at least one other too. It will be a swell time, I'm sure... Yeah...I think that's basically it....well, I'm sure I could ramble on forever, but I'm pretty sure that nobody wants to read that. | Wow, it's been a while...again....man, I need to get better at updating this I guess. Anyways, what has been up with me for the last month, you ask? the answer to that question is; school. School, school, and more school. I breathe it, walk it, sleep it, eat it, live it. College is good, but there have been some rough patches, and I have a few major decisions I need to make. Prayer is always appreciated! Thanksgiving was good. I love break! It was really good to get to see all my siblings. It's kinda weird though....my parents are the only ones at home, so for Thanksgiving we all kinda trickled in from different areas of the state....it's a new kind of family life, that's for sure! It's monday and I'm already looking forward to the weekend. Is that a bad thing? I'm actually going home again this weekend, as we are having a cookie baking day. I'm pretty excited about it! I haven't been able to just bake for a while, plus I'll get to spend some quality time with my mom, which I didn't get to do over T-break. (when all the sibs are around, it kinda turns into a competition for attention, which might sound weird to you, but it's true.) I'll also get to see my oldest sister, Julia, again, along with Dale and Madelynn. Oh, an exciting thing that happened on Thanksgiving! Ok, well, you all might not find it so exciting, but I do, so I'm going to share it with you. :) I got to feel my little nephew kick!! (Julia's pregnant and due in Feb.) Julia was like "wow, he's moving around!!!" she grabbed my hand and put it on her stomach and I got to feel the lil guy kick her. Yes, ok, lame story for you guys, but I thought it was awesome! I can't wait till the baby is born and I get to meet him! I don't really know what else to say....I'm livin my life over here in good old Eau Claire. If you want to come visit me, that'd be cool. I'm always up for visitors! I hope you all are doing well, and I'll try to do better at updating this! | | |
| hey everyone...sorry I haven't really been keeping up with this blog. Life is insane, as usual, and I bet the majority of people reading this can relate. I've been pretty overwhelmed by exams, papers, and presentations. I've been sick a lot lately, which is making everything hard. I don't understand why I can never be healthy. I was sick when I was born, and my immune system never fully developed...blah....I don't know how to NOT be sick. it sucks. So yeah, that's been my life lately. There have been some fun things, yes, so my life isn't all work and sucky. I can't wait till friday...cuz that means my 2 exams, presentation, quiz and paper will be all over with. Basically, I just need a lot of prayer right now. I'm not getting the grades I need, and yeah, my health is not what I want/need it to be. I hope you are all doing well, and I'll post sometime soon! (well, at least sooner than I did this time!) | | |
| *whew* so it's been a long time since I wrote on here...hmm, time gets away from me! (not like people read this anyways....) This weekend was a lot of fun, it was homecoming! yay!!! We beat the Falcons (UW River Falls) at our homecoming football game on saturday...the ending score was 23-3! That was a lot of fun, went with a bunch of friends! Otherwise, the weekend was filled with random activities, lots of laughs, and not nearly enough sleep! Staying up till 5 am 2 nights in a row kinda takes a tole on you.... Only at college would you play Twister in the elevator! lol...that was so much fun! Saturday night in Towers North....yes, yes, it was a good time! we all got kinda dizzy though....had to stop and sit down for about 2 hours before we all felt normal again. I wish I had had my camera with me, but I didn't...so we didn't even get any pictures. Yeah...that's about it. I'm tired, and not really wanting to go through another week. Only 2 exams this week though....ok...sooo I'll share with you a couple pictures from the weekend.
